Sam Johnson is a voice teacher originally from Salt Lake City, Utah, currently based in Austin, Texas. He is a full member, board member, mentor teacher, and Director of Education for IVTOM (International Voice Teachers of Mix), and has a degree in vocal performance from Westminster College. He spent 18 months teaching voice in Hong Kong, working with both amateur and professional singers. Sam now brings his international experience clients worldwide through Zoom. His focus on vocal technique can help singers of all levels reach their goals.
In Hong Kong Sam was an associate teacher at CSMA Studio, the premier vocal studio of the area. In addition to teaching private lessons at the studio he helped run many group classes, including choirs and musical theatre intensives. He also conducted the JP Morgan Managing Director’s Choir in 2013 and 2014, helping to raise over $5.8 million HKD for charity.
During his time as an IVTOM member, Sam has had the privilege of working privately with its master voice teachers, including Dean Kaelin, John Henny, Mark Baxter, and Teri Stock. At Westminster College he studied with Dr Marc Reynolds. Sam aims to help his students become great musicians through great vocal technique. He has experience teaching a wide range of genres to students of all ages of backgrounds, including pop, musical theatre, R&B, and classical.

Marc Reynolds
Dr. Marc Reynolds has been teaching voice for more then ten years to rock musicians, opera singers, and everyone in between. He is committed to helping singers sing with ease and develop their own unique sound. In addition to teaching voice he has been a performance consultant for rock and pop bands, singer-song writers, and an acting coach to professional musical theater and opera singers.
Marc, a native of Los Angeles, received his undergraduate degree in Vocal Performance from Brigham Young University as well as a Master of Music and Doctor of Musical Arts degree with and emphasis in Opera Directing at the University of Texas at Austin.
Marc is also a stage director, producer, and educator.

Vanessa Vega
Vanessa Vega (she/they), is a performer and vocal instructor with
experience in a variety of genres. In 2016 she earned her
undergraduate degree in vocal performance at Westminster College in Salt Lake City and is currently finishing her graduate degree in vocal performance at Texas State University. At both universities Vanessa has performed a variety of operatic roles from Musetta in La Boheme to the title role in Suor Angelica. Between degrees, Vanessa has performed with the Utah Opera Chorus, Utah Symphony Chorus, Phoenix Symphony Chorus, and Austin Opera Chorus.
While Vanessa has enjoyed her work in classical ensembles, she grew up performing in several musicals a year beginning at the age of eight. Musical theater and pop music continue to be a part of her professional and karaoke performance repertoire. When not performing or studying, Vanessa can be found playing board games, relaxing with her dogs, or cooking. She hopes to bring her vocal knowledge and expertise to the Sam Johnson Vocal Studio to encourage and support singers from a variety of backgrounds on their vocal journey.
